BIGGER AND BETTER IN 2023
ADELAIDE CBD SA Just on the edge of the Adelaide CBD stands a new KSS centre. The building is the former Australia Post office which served Adelaide from the early 1970’s. The building is a 6 storey monster and could cater for 1,000 workers in its day. plant and equipment, air conditioning, sorting machines, canteen, ventilation, escalators, ramps and the like. While this work continued we commenced fit-out of the self storage works. When the centre opens in mid 2023 it will have close to 1,100 units, all alarmed, with new sensor lighting and new cameras over 4 floors. The basement and another 2 floors will be left vacant for future expansion opportunities. The centre will also include the new KSS South Australian Team Member Training Room and be home to the KSS South Australian Operations Managers office. MOOREBANK NSW The new KSS Moorebank (pictured above) in South Western Sydney continues to grow. Level 6 was poured just before Christmas and Level 7, the final level is underway through January. The ground floor self storage fit out has commenced. The centre will have all the best features of the new KSS customer service area. With over 1,100 self storage units and 7 levels in height the building will be a big orange beacon in South Western Sydney. Completion is due in May this year. Waterloo wine storage area. The two main features of the work was to install new wall and ceiling insulated sandwich panels inside the wine storage area and then remove the existing refrigeration system and install a new, modern, efficient system. It was quite a logistical challenge, working over and around the existing customers, fitting out the new wine storage area, keeping some of the old wine cabinets and then installing and commissioning the new refrigeration system. Upon completion of the wine storage area we were able to address some ageing condensation issues to the floor above. So we undertook to demolish the entire ground floor storage fit out and re-build the area into new modern self storage units. All units are alarmed, with new sensor lighting, new cameras and in some units, the installation of a new idea - an internal 3x3 mezzanine floor level, thereby increasing the self storage area.
