KSS Wollongong has been a purpose build site since September 2012. The site is where Wollongong Markets used to be held and was also used for holding auctions at one point. Wollongong first opened with 437 Units and 5,394 square metres of space. SPOTLIGHT ON WOLLONGONG
S ituated in a developing area filled with new unit blocks and a large Bunnings across the road, Wollon- gong KSS is a Purpose Built facility which now offers 877 units or 10,550 square metres of space across three Buildings of multi-level Storage. It has always been a popular place for boat and caravan storage and currently has a ratio of roughly 30% business storers and 70% residential storers. In August 2019 we embarked on an expansion which involved tearing down the old caravan/boat area and building a three Level building. Construction company Patterson Building Group took on the job and delivered on the 18th May. Minus some issues with asbestos being found under ground and Covid-19 delaying a delivery of a couple of elevators it was a smooth build. The builders did a great job to not adversely affect the team or other storers. Wollongong enjoyed rapid growth under the Management Team of Centre Manager Mark Montgomery and Assistant Manager and now current Centre Manager Matthew Jones. This Occupancy growth led to an expansion of the site which resulted in a total of 561
units and 7,191 square metres of space to rent. Since opening in 2012 Wollon- gong has only experienced one month of performance challenged status, often sitting over 90% Occupancy. Mark, as we know, moved on to New Zealand which led to the current Team of Centre Manager Matthew Jones and Assistant Manager Belinda Duncan. Both Matt and Bel have been with KSS since 2012. Matthew starting at Wollongong and Belinda up at Newcastle West.
KSS, keeping a tidy, well run centre and providing great service to all customers to take advantage of all opportunities to rent a unit. When not in the office they can be found somewhere on the driveway with a blower in hand. Wollongong now sits on 57% occupancy. The team are very motivated to get the place back up to 85% occupancy.
